Aims to build up the largest open-source blockchain developer community
Over 3,000 domestic web developers gathered for the 2018 iWeb Summit in Beijing, China, on August 12, 2018.
The summit’s organizer, HTML5 DreamWorks, has announced it will now kick off ‘XBlockchain Dapps’ a new summit dedicated to the education and professional development of blockchain developers with the ultimate goal of creating the largest professional community in the blockchain world.
Blockchain has transformed organizations across various sectors—spanning from government, financial services, insurance, healthcare, the Internet of Things and supply-chain management— prompting developers to ensure they deliver innovation in an ever expanding range of fields and applications.
And with global financial technology investment at almost 1,000 percent, from only US $880 million in 2014 to an average of US $8.5 billion in 2016-2017, it’s clear that demand for blockchain technology is soaring. Various governments and private sector organisations have been developing initiatives to boost their financial industries and improve productivity.
“XBlockchain is a collaboration between many partners to develop open source blockchain standards, while also opening opportunities for app development to many more developers worldwide,” says Aina Tien, Co-founder of XBlockchain Dapp and HTML5 DreamWorks.
The ‘XBlockchain Dapp’ Conference has been established to address the rapid growth of blockchain technology in recent years and promote future talent and collaboration within the international developer community. A followup series of XBlockchain Dapp workshops will also be held in a number of cities in China.
In Beijing, developers may further study and collaborate on the future of blockchain technology, its financial applications and even potentially reinvent the code underpinning blockchain itself.
At this weekend’s summit, the director of international partnerships at Pundi X, Stephen DeMeulenaere, presented on real-world blockchain use cases and emphasized the need for further development to fuel the wider adoption of blockchain technology, including through app development.
“In the same way that we are making blockchain-based transactions as easy as buying bottled water in a convenience store, now we will be making app development on the blockchain the easiest ever,” Stephen said.
“Every piece of disruptive technology has to present a total shift in paradigm, and while blockchain has shown the doors of that paradigm, everyday people will need to see a true benefit to alter their deep-rooted behavior,” Stephen concluded. “We are not there yet, but we hope to be part of the revolution.”
As an open and decentralised platform, and decentralized, blockchain should be supported by needed infrastructure to serve all the public chains. An example is where Examples include developers submitting their wallet app or payment app for inclusion on an open platform.
The iWeb Summit aligns with what is expected to be Asia’s flagship blockchain event, dubbed the “XBlockchain Summit” in Bali, Indonesia, on October 2018, to gather blockchain and cryptocurrency leaders in the lead up to the annual summits of the Board of Governors of the IMF and World Bank in Nusa Dua.
Interactivity will be at the core of both summits, and networking among developers will be facilitated. For more information, interested parties may visit www.xblockchain.tech
